Objectives of the Experimentation:
The research activity aims to evaluate the effects of 2D nanomaterials (e.g., graphene oxide; potassium muscovite; hexagonal boron nitride; molybdenum disulfide) on the reproduction of selected model crop plants, namely tobacco, maize, and hemp. Seed quality in terms of nutritional value, germination rate, and vigor, as well as yield parameters of the selected species after exposure to 2D nanomaterials, will be investigated through experimental activities conducted at the A. Servadei farm.
The project involves three Italian research units: the University of Trieste (Prof. Mauro Tretiach, PI), the University of Udine (Dr. Guido Fellet), and the University of Bologna (Dr. Iris Aloisi).
Funding:
The project is funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MUR) as part of the PRIN 2020 (Projects of Relevant National Interest) funding program.
